"Also for the Millenium, Ibanez created its limited-edition JS2K-PLT JS Series Crystal Planet, a tribute to guitar great Joe Satriani. For this guitar, even the pickup bobbins and wire insulation were see-thru. Estimates differ on how many of these were made. Sources at Hoshino say slightly fewer than 100 were made, but other knowledgeable sources put the total nearer 200; pick yer poison. Celluloid, Bakelite, and Lucite all had their shots at providing guitarists with an alternative to wood, though most were motivated more by manufacturing and/or sonic concerns than any scarcity of natural materials. However, there were more serious developments waiting in the wings and these were more directed at the fundamental problems." (Vintage Guitar Magazine, May 2005, p.60).
way cooler than my 4 vintage guitars
i have a vintage 1988 epiphone/gibson lawsuit spotlight in the non locking trem version... got the non locking trem because the locking trems were horrible from what i herd. i also have a late 90's or early 200's unknown muscle car orange fender mexican strat with a orange pickguard and orange pacman style killswitch button. my third vintage is a 1978 ibanez pf 200 lawsuit black with a huge tune o matic ibanez style bridge with so much sustain its insane. last is a ibanez sa10 in a rare custom baby blue finish that was sanded and then hand painted in a crimson red a golden yellow and gold skulls and royal paint decals were added. i even have a ibanez team j craft js1000 but its not vintage and a js20s. even with these impressive guitars, i could never get my hands on a js guitar over 2500. this is so cool and if i ever get the money im going to get a chromeboy or a crystal planet js. its hard to find to find a js with the origonal chrome backplates because all the ones going for sale on ebay except for one is fake.
