This is the Guitar that Batman Might Play… Sort of a Cross Between a Vox Phantom and a Mosrite…
This retro futuristic guitar features a 'tear' shape solid mahogany body with two asymetrical pointed horns. The bolt-on maple neck joins the body at the 19th fret. The guitar weighs 8.50 lbs and has a maple neck with a bound rosewood fretboard with a nut width of just over 1 5/8 inches and a typical fairly thin 'early sixties' neck profile. The fretboard has a scale length of 25.50 inches and an unusual 23 medium frets (+ zero fret) and pearloid dot position markers. The headstock has a decal with the 'Hallmark' logo and "The HALLMARK by Shade". Individual (three per side) Kluson Deluxe style tuners with oval metal buttons. Four-bolt neckplate with engraved Hallmark logo. Serial number "S050511764" in black on back of headstock. Two Hi-Fi '67 wide range high output custom wound single coil pickups with white plastic covers and black plastic surrounds and outputs of 9.22k and 9.12k. Two controls (one volume, one tone) + a three way pickup selector switch, all mounted on the three-layer white/black/white pickguard which has fourteen screws. The knobs are slightly domed crosshatched Telecaster style. Mosrite style 'roller' bridge and Vibrato tailpiece rather similar to the original Semi Mosely (Mosrite) type vibrato unit - but with the bridge and tailpiece in two separate units. A mint (9.50) example in the custom Gold Sparkle finish. Housed in the original Hallmark black hardshell case with black plush lining (9.50).
