This is one of the most spectacular of the Breedlove Master Class Models. The C25 features a Grand Concert body with a soft cutaway. The body is made of especially selected Flamed Koa with a Western Red Cedar top and Master Class Bloodwood binding. The top has Abalone purfling as well as a four-piece wide rosette of the same Abalone. The neck is a fine grained Mahogany with an ebony faced headstock and Gold and Black Gotoh tuners. The fretboard is ebony with inlay of a large and very intricate Mermaid and Dolphin made from combinations of multicolored Mother of Pearl and Abalone. There is also inlay of a seagull at the fifth fret. The edges of the fretboard, sound hole, and heel cap are bound with Bloodwood. This combination of woods works it’s magic to create a warm even tone with loads of bass and volume with a resonance that is clearly heard across the room. The neck is fast and easy to play making this not only a gorgeous instrument but a perfect selection for a wide variety of playing styles. It is equally at ease playing finger picking as it is a syncopated rhythm or complicated lead.
The Breedlove Guitar Company, established in 1990 by Steve Henderson and Larry Breedlove to realize their dream of building fine instruments, began life as a repair center for Taylor Guitars while the pair developed their own designs. Their mission was to craft acoustic guitars and basses that opened up the bass resonance and sustain. They succeeded, creating the now famous and coveted Original Breedlove Sound. Later, Larry's brother, Kim Breedlove, a guitarist who had studied art, design, and guitar-making, and had already earned a reputation for creating fine instruments, joined the firm. Since then, with Larry's later departure, Kim has been the firm's master luthier and designer, and the Breedlove Guitar Company has won numerous awards for its instruments, from ASIA, Acoustic Guitar Magazine, Guitar Players Magazine, Guitarist Magazine, NAMM, and the state of Oregon, where Breedlove's factory is located. Maintaining its uncompromising traditional craftsmanship, Breedlove has been a leader in using alternative, environmentally sustainable, naturally aged tone woods. Twenty-one years after its foundation, the Breedlove Guitar Company remains committed to providing the finest quality materials, craft, and customer satisfaction, its passion and dedication to the art and craft of guitar-making as strong as ever.
