A Mint Royal Blue Santana One.
This PRS 'Santana One' weighs just 8.60 lbs., and has a one-piece, pre-95 Santana-shape offset asymmetrical double-cutaway mahogany body with sculptured figured-maple top. Triple Paua-shell purfling between the pickups, single Paua-shell purfling behind the bridge. One-piece mahogany Santana-shape glued-in neck with a wide nut width of just over 1 11/16 inches, a wonderful medium-to-thick profile and a scale length of 24.50 inches. Single-action truss rod. Back angled three-on-a-side non veneered headstock with inlaid abalone Eagle on face. Rosewood truss-rod cover (secured with one screw) with inlaid abalone "OM" symbol. Individual Schaller/PRS 'Rotamatic' locking tuners with half-moon metal buttons. On the back of the headstock, written in gold marker is the serial number "7 33449" and also a blind stamped "B" above the 'D' tuner. Ten inch radiused Brazilian rosewood fretboard with inlaid Abalone 'bird' position markers and 24 jumbo frets. One PRS "zebra-coil" Santana 'Bass" Humbucker in the neck position and one PRS "zebra-coil" Santana 'Treble" Humbucker in the bridge position with outputs of 6.96k and 9.27k respectively. The pickups are uncovered as usual. One volume control, one tone control, and two 'mini toggle' pickup switches. The potentiometers are dated September 1997. Black plastic barrel-shape "Speed" control knobs. Nickel-plated combined PRS six-saddle bridge and tremolo system. Open back tremolo cavity with four tremolo springs. Inside the neck cavity (written on the neck tenon) in black marker is "Santana / 8-08-97". Inside the bridge pickup cavity, written in blue pencil is "33,449 / Santana Model / Royal Blue". On the back of the guitar the triangular metal control cover (secured by three screws) is engraved in white "PRS Paul Reed Smith Guitars / Carlos Santana Model / [engraved Carlos Santana signature]. This amazing guitar is in mint (9.50) condition. Complete with the original black plastic tipped tremolo arm, instruction sheets, warranty, etc. Housed in the original three-latch, rectangular black hardshell case with black leather ends and black plush lining (9.50).
Produced from 1995-1998 the Santana model features a "one-piece mahogany Santana-shape set-neck, Brazilian rosewood fingerboard, abalone bird inlays, 24 frets, 24.5" (622mm) scale, inlaid "OM" symbol on truss-rod cover, inlaid eagle on pre-85 Santana-shape mahogany-faced headstock; chrome-plated locking tuners. Solid mahogany pre-'85 Santana-shape body with figured maple top, paua-shell purfling between pickups and behind bridge. At first available only in Santana yellow; later sunbursts or colours. Two "zebra-coil" humbuckers (Santana Treble and Santana Bass). Two controls (volume, tone), two pickup selector mini-switches. Nickel-plated PRS vibrato.
