Contoured Tom Anderson Hollow Body T "Telecaster" style guitar. A featherweight at just 6.10 lbs. Single maple bound hollowed alder body, with the most amazing quilted transparent teal maple top. The neck cavity is marked "268" which is the Tom Anderson paint #. The maple neck was not made by Tom Anderson but is super fast playing with a nice fat nut width of 1 11/16inches and scale length of 25 1/2 inches. Rosewood fretboard, with 22 heavy frets and pearl dot position markers. Individual G Gotoh tuners with oval metal buttons, and two circular string trees. Tom Anderson TD3 single-coil six-polepiece pickup in the neck position, with an output of 8.64k, and a super hot Tom Anderson TL3R pickup (output 15.40k) angled in the bridgeplate. Three-layer Fender Custom Shop (white pearloid/black/white) plastic pickguard. Two controls (one volume, one tone) with the pots both dated 137 9524, plus three-way selector switch, all on pickguard. Chrome knobs with rounded tops and knurled sides. Side-mounted jack socket. Gotoh combined individually adjustable six-saddle bridge/tailpiece. The condition is very fine, apart from a tiny little finish chip on the top of the guitar where the binding meets the neck on the bass bout. Housed in its original black hardshell case with plush lining (8.50).
We have been in touch with Tom Anderson and he has seen very detailed photographs of this guitar, both inside and out. He has confirmed to us that he did make the body and do the paintwork, and that the two pickups are the originals. He has also told us that he did not make the neck and that a previous owner has obviously substituted another neck for the original. The wiring also is not his, and the bridge hardware is by Gotoh.
In summary, this a 1995 Tom Anderson Hollow T Classic with an aftermarket neck… but it plays wonderfully!
