Two small areas of wear on the sides of the neck by the first fret, some very minor belt buckle scarring on the back, a few very small surface marks on the top, and a small amount of finish checking. Housed in the original Gibson brown hardshell case with purple plush lining (8.00). The case handle has been repaired.
"Part of the Gibson Super Jumbo family, today's J-100 Xtra is modeled after the SJ-100 of the 1930s. After several transformations, the J-100 Xtra emerged in 1993 with the classic Moustache™ Bridge, an old-style pickguard similar to that of the J-200, and a traditional headstock logo and crown. The J-100 Xtra features a solid Sitka spruce top with scalloped bracing and solid Honduras mahogany back and sides, which deliver a thundering bottom end and a warm midrange response. Though not quite as fancy as its famous cousin, the J-200, the J-100 Xtra certainly represents the elegant power of Gibson's Super Jumbo acoustics. Artists who play J-100 Xtras cover all musical styles and include Brooks and Dunn and The Pretenders" (The Gibson J-100 Xtra at http://www.gibson.com/products/montana/1996/jumbo/j100.html).
The J100 Extra is an affordable, luxury Super Jumbo with a Moustache™ Bridge and transducer pickup. In today’s world, many acoustic guitar manufacturers have chosen to build their instruments more quickly, cheaply, and in greater numbers. Gibson acoustic guitars are made one-at-a-time, by hand. No shortcuts. No substitutions. They’re made in Bozeman, Montana, where the climatic conditions are ideal for guitar building. Most importantly, Gibson acoustic guitars are built by master craftspeople who have dedicated their lives to building the world’s finest acoustic instruments. These elements combine to create the difference that is the Gibson acoustic guitar. The difference is "MasterBuilt."
