Gibson's First Les Paul-Type Single Cutaway with a Fender-Style Bolt-on Neck
Gibson's first Les Paul-type single cutaway with a Fender-style bolt-on neck. This black beauty weighs just 8.40 lbs. and has a nice, fat nut width of slightly over 1 11/16 inches and a standard Gibson scale length of 24 3/4 inches. Solid mahogany body with beveled bass-side edge, bolt-on maple neck, and ebony fretboard with 22 frets and inlaid pearl dot position markers. Headstock with gold silk-screened "Gibson" logo and "Invader" on truss-rod cover. Individual Grover Roto-Matic tuners with half-moon metal buttons. Serial number ("81574638") stamped on back of headstock. Two red hot exposed "Dirty Finger" humbucker pickups with outputs of 15.52k and 13.14k. Four controls (two volume, two tone) plus three-way selector switch. Black plastic barrel-shaped "Speed" knobs with white markings. New-style Tune-O-Matic bridge and separate stop tailpiece. There is some minor belt buckle scarring on the back, a small chip on the front edge, and a few very minor surface marks. This is a really good example of these now rather uncommon guitars, which have great 'sustain' and is in excellent plus condition. Housed in the original black Samsonsite-style hardshell case with plush lining (9.00).
