The Ibanez Version of the Gibson ES-339.

1983 Ibanez (Japan) AM-205 Stagemaster.

This Ibanez version of Gibson's ES-339 weighs just 7.70 lbs. Multi-bound 14 inch wide, 1 3/4 inch deep laminated maple body with maple and mahogany central block. Single-piece quilted maple top with two 'f' sound holes,  one-piece quilted maple back and sides. One-piece mahogany neck with a nut width of just over 1 11/16 inches, a scale length of 24 3/4 inches ad a fast medium-to-thin profile. Ebony fretboard with 22 jumbo frets and inlaid pearl and abalone block position markers. Headstock with pearl inlaid "Ibanez" and pearl inlaid 'stylized abstract' fleur-de-lys design and single-layer black plastic truss-rod cover with two screws. Serial number "I 830130" and "Crafted in Japan" in gold on back of headstock. Individual Ibanez 'Rotomatic' style tuners with specific shaped metal buttons. Two Ibanez 'Super 58' humbucker pickups with cream plastic surrounds and outputs of 7.34k and 7.37k. Five-layer black over white plastic pickguard. Four controls (two volume, two tone) plus three-way pickup selector switch, all on lower treble bout. Side mounted jack input. Ibanez 'tinted' plastic control knobs with rubberized sides and black lettering. Ibanez Gibralter ll tune-o-matic bridge and Ibanez separate stud 'Quick Change ll' tailpiece. All parts gold-plated. This guitar is in near mint (9.25) condition, with just a small piece of wood laminate missing from the top edge of the headstock . Oval tan label inside bass 'f' hole with model number "AM-205" stamped in black and signed in pencil "Ichikawa". Housed in the original Ibanez four-latch, shaped black hardshell case with brown plush lining (9.25).

The AM-205 was the Ibanez version of Gibson's ES-339 and was produced between 1983 and 1987.
