Super 1969 Blond Telecaster with a Wonderful Medium to Thick Neck Profile
This near mint lightweight late sixties Blond Telecaster weighs just 7.30 lbs. and has a nut width of 1 5/8 and a scale length of 25 1/2 inches. Solid alder body, one-piece maple neck with a wonderful medium to thick profile, 21 frets and inlaid black dot position markers. Headstock decal with "Fender" logo in black with gold trim, "Telecaster" in black beside it, and two patent numbers beneath "Fender." Individual Fender "F" tuners with octagonal metal buttons. Single "butterfly" string tree. Four-bolt neck plate with large Fender "F" logo and serial number ("228452") between the top two screws. One plain metal-cover pickup (at neck) with an amazingly hot output of 6.88k and one light gray-bottom six-polepiece pickup (angled in bridgeplate) with an output of 5.96k. Three-layer white/black/white (over pearloid) plastic pickguard with eight screws. Two controls (one volume, one tone) and one three-way selector switch (with black plastic "Top-Hat" tip), all on metal plate adjoining pickguard. Chrome knobs with flat tops and knurled sides. Fender combined bridge/tailpiece with original chrome "ashtray" bridge cover. The neck is dated "3 APR 69B" and the pots are dated "304 6530" (Stackpole July 1965). This guitar is in near mint (9.25) condition. The original nicely-grained Blond finish is almost as fresh as the day it left the factory and the neck shows virtually no sign of wear whatsoever. There is a tiny crack on the edge of the pickguard by the screwhole nearest the bass edge, and one very small surface chip on the face of the guitar just by the control plate. There is a small rectangular area of discoloration on the back of the guitar due to resting on something in the case. Otherwise this thirty-nine year old guitar is in as fine condition as you could ever wish for and most importantly is one of the best sounding late sixties Telecasters EVER with a neck pickup that makes this guitar GREAT. Complete with the original bridge-cover "Ashtray", the original 1968 46 page color catalog and even the original Fender black plastic name-tag. Housed in its original Fender black "logo" hardshell case with dark orange plush lining (9.25).
