"Second in popularity only to the Deluxe"
1966 Fender Princeton AA 764 Reverb
A near mint, August 1966 "silver-sparkle black-face" black tolex "Princeton AA 764". This wonderful little amp will give you that perfect mid-sixties "clean" tone that everyone wants… It weighs just 28 lbs, boasts 12 watts and has one Jensen ten-inch speaker with code "220 549" (Jensen, Dec. 1965). Black Tolex body, with silver sparkle grill cloth. The cabinet measures 19 3/4 x 16 1/4 x 9 1/2 inches (7 1/2 inches at the top). Apart from some slight wear to the lower left-hand corner of the cabinet - this is a near mint example - a true time capsule, complete with it's original cover. A classic amp, perfect for club and recording use. The classic sound comes from the use of a GX34 Rectifier, two 12AX7s, one 7025, one 12AT7 and two 6V6GT 'power' tubes. This is the smallest amp that Fender made with both reverb and tremolo.
Second in popularity only to the Deluxe, the 12 watt Princeton was an affordable step up from the Champ and Vibro Champ amps.
