The Original Sixties VOX version of Gibson's ES-330
1964 Vox V213 Lynx (Crucianelli Production)
This rare VOX Lynx (Gibson ES-330 style) guitar weighs just 5.30 lbs. 15 3/4 inch wide, 1 1/2 inch deep thinline body. Two-piece laminated maple top with two single-bound 'f' sound holes. Two-piece laminated maple back and laminated maple sides, triple binding on the top and single binding on the back. "Double T" reinforced bolt-on neck with adjustable truss rod, a nut width of just under 1 11/16 inches, a scale length of 24 3/4 inches and a wonderful thick profile. Rosewood fretboard with 21 original thin frets and inlaid pearl block position markers. Black faced, single white bound headstock with "VOX" inlaid in white. Specific shaped metal truss-rod cover with three screws. Individual VOX closed-back tuners with oval metal buttons. Two VOX single-coil pickups with chrome-plated covers and nicely balanced outputs of 2.84k and 2.85k. Black plastic pickup surrounds. Four controls (two volume, two tone) plus three-way pickup selector switch, all on lower treble bout. VOX Metal skirt knobs with knurled sides and flat tops. VOX bridge with six individually adjustable metal saddles, VOX trapeze tailpiece secured to end of body with two screws and the strap button. All hardware chrome-plated. The back of the guitar and the headstock face and back have been professionally over-sprayed (this is only evident under ultra-violet light). The three-way pickup selector switch appears to have been installed the wrong way round - but works just fine. The original pickguard is missing but otherwise this great sixties guitar is in exceptionally fine (9.00) condition. Housed in a later Yamaha three-latch, shaped black hardshell case with green plush lining (9.00).
